M63 The Sunflower galaxy - Martin Boddy
Found this image from April 21. Was not happy with the detail at the time, but the latest Startools software has really brought it to life.
Taken with the Altair 294c pro tec camera. - spots250523 jc
Yesterday imaged a string of sunspots across the sun's face plus one enormous one on it's own. Interesting to see it changing over the weeks. - 25/05/23 - John Consadine

- jc m3 meteor
The image of M3 (Globular Cluster) was produced from 57 x 20 secs shots. Both these taken with a DSLR at prime focus on my 8" Skywatcher. Processed in SIRIL and finished with Photoshop. I found many frames spoilt with satellite trails but just this single image showed a meteor trail. The chances of catching this is very slim as the whole image is only the size of the moon. - John Consadine 27/04/23
- jc m64
Tuesday night managed to get out late as the moon was setting and had a go at some deep sky (maybe the last for the summer!). Managed just 29 x 20 sec shots of M64 (Black Eye Galaxy) which after processing gave this result. More data should give a crisper image. - John Consadine 27/04/23

- ngc mbNGC 3718 galaxy in Ursa Major - Martin Boddy 52 million light years away. This was a spiral galaxy until a near miss with galaxy NGC 3729 on the left, which is still only about 150,000 light years from it. The red band was possibly the around the galaxy rim originally. Bottom left there is a distant group of five interacting galaxies 400 million light years away (Hickson 56).This image is still work in progress, have six hours integration so far, trying to get the fine detail in the arms.

Just got around to processing rest of solar images from last week. First time I had seen the sun's limb with just a Baader Solar filter. Normally will only see features here with a Solarscope but managed to capture striations or channels on the surface. The Solar cycle should become even more active by next year. - John Consadine
